FAQ

  • Where Do We Meet?
    We will meet next to Life Guard Tower 16 in Bolsa Chica State Beach. Please arrive 30 minutes before your designated check-in time to get settled in at the beach. State Beach Parking is $15
  • How old do you need to be for a lesson?
    Students must be at least 8 years old and any skill level is welcome. For kids 8-10 years old or those who feel very nervous being in the ocean we recommend taking a private one on one lesson.
  • Do students need to know how to swim?
    Yes, for their safety all students must be proficient swimmers and able to swim at least 50 MTRS in order to atttend lessons.
  • What are the safety protocols?
    All staff and instructors have passed through background checks and are First Aid/CPR and AED certified.
  • Is parking included?
    No, parking passes can be purchased through Bolsa Chica State Beach. Daily parking passes are $15-$30. Annual Passes “California Explorer” Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass $195 Valid for one year, this pass provides vehicle entrance to 134 state parks, including the high demand Southern California beaches along the Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego Coasts.
  • Can I bring my own board and/or wetsuit?
    Yes, absolutely. If you have gear you are already comfortable with we welcome you to bring it out. Please note bringing your own equipment will not change the rate of lessons.
  • What if there is no surf or if it is too big?
    As mother nature often has other plans and doesn't provide us with ample notice your lesson may need to be rescheduled day of. We will make our best effort to communicate as soon as possible and reschedule for another day. For Surf Camp another fun activity will be provided.
  • What if I need to reschedule?
    If you would like to reschedule a lesson you have booked, we need at least 24 HOURS NOTICE. Failure to give the necessary notice will mean you forfeit the cost of that lesson (including illness or injury or called into work, etc)
  • What do I bring
    Bring with you a towel, bathing suit, sunscreen and bottled water.
